The until-now Windows only Vocaloid software will now be available to Mac users! YAMAHA has announced a Vocaloid editor for Cubase that will be compatible with Macs when used with a Vocaloid voice library and DAW software Cubase 7 or Cubase Artist 7. The release date for the “VOCALOID Editor for Cubase NEO” software has been set for August 5th 2013.

In regards to the voice library, YAMAHA will be releasing a Mac-compatible NEO series and users who have already purchased the Windows library will be able to transfer their license to a Mac version for free. (transfer is limited to VOCALOID 3 Library VY1V3, VY2V3, Mew, ZOLA Project, Lapis Aoki)

The need for a transfer indicates that third-party voice libraries will be dependent on the third party. Crypton Future Media has already announced that the upcoming Hatsune Miku V3 voice library will be Mac compatible.

Now that Mac users will be able to utilize the Vocaloid software, we can look forward to many more great Vocaloid songs!
