The first Pokemon games were the best 10

The anime based on the original Pokemon Red & Green! The usual Ash/Pikachu combo is nowhere to be seen!

It’s super nostalgic because the story follows the events that take place in the games. From the music to the save screen, it keeps bringing up memories from my childhood…they got pretty precise with the message boxes and the font as well!

The Red/Green relationship was good, but I got really fired up for the Giovanni sequence. Charizard’s mega evolution was awesome as well, it makes me want the game!!

Well, if they were going to stick to the original games I would have wanted more accuracy. I played so much I lost count of how many times I restarted. The “science is amazing!” line is not actually Red’s line! You also don’t run into a caterpie until after Tokiwa City…and even if it did, Red should be catching weedles. How does he get a Jolteon right after the rock tunnel anyway? I liked how he bought a magicarp at Mt. Moon, and how he was using a haunter against Sabrina. The battle scenes could be frustrating though, and I just wanted to shout “That’s not the right attack!” at the screen. But, I guess thinking that way means I became like Giovanni…The latter end of the original story was really good!

The anime adaptation of the first pokemon games. The quality is like a theatrical release. If you played Pokemon Red/Green, this is exciting to watch. Of course, with the mega evolution of Charizard at the end you find out that this is a promotional anime for Pokemon X/Y…but with the quality of the anime, I don’t think anyone minds. The pokemon battles are well drawn, and I can’t be the only one that would look forward to a Gold/Silver edition or even a Diamond/Pearl edition.

From old to new, I’m watching all kinds of anime. Robot, special powers, love, slice-of-life, I will eat anything! My favorites are “Saint Seiya,” “Penguindrum,” and “Pani Poni dash!”
