Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals! – Gadget Anime Review

Welcome to the Hidden Leaf Village. The village where Uzumaki Naruto, star of the TV show “Naruto” makes his home. Every day, countless powerful ninjas carry out missions and train to hone their skills. Our main character is one of these powerful ninjas…but it’s not Naruto! It’s the ninja who can’t use ninjutsu, Rock Lee!

This series is a spinoff of the hit anime/manga Naruto focusing on the character Rock Lee, and this is actually not a second season but a best-of selection of the earlier season! I personally think that Rock Lee’s best times were during the younger period immediately after the Chunin test, but this is a great anime for anyone who likes both Naruto and gag anthologies. There are characters that get more airtime even though they were crowded out by the number of characters in the original series, and you can see a side of the characters that you wouldn’t have seen. That being said, it’s amazing that they are doing a best-of rerun of this show. The voice actors lucked out when they were cast as Naruto characters, what with all the shows and games coming out recently.

This seems like a chibi spin-off of the Naruto franchise. I’m only familiar with the title character, but he’s not the main character this time!? They keep pushing the dog poop gag too, so it seems like it’s targeting kids. This is enjoyable even if you don’t know about Naruto or Rock Lee!

This is a best-of rerun of a previously aired series. It’s a gag anime full of chibi characters from the Naruto universe. The main character is the memorable side character Rock Lee, and his tendency to try hard but mess up makes for good comedy. It’s easy to get into and watch. Seeing Neji again makes me really happy to watch this!
