New promo released for Sci-Fi naval anime Arpeggio of Blue Steel

The new trailer for upcoming sci-fi naval anime Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio (Arpeggio of Blue Steel) has been released on the official anime website.

The anime is an adaptation of the original manga by creative team Ark Performance, first launched in 2009 in the Young King Ours magazine. In the story, severe global warming causes humanity to lose much of their land to rising oceans. A super powered “Fleet of Fog” then appears suddenly all across the world, destroying ships and preventing sea travel. 17 years after the appearance of the “Fleet of Fog,” Gunzo Chihaya and his friends manage to commandeer one of the “Fleet of Fog” submarines. Renaming the vessel I-401, they join with the physical incarnation of the submarine named Iona to fight against the “Fleet of Fog.”

Also released are the voice actors for the two main characters, with Kazuyuki Okitsu playing Gunzo Chihaya, and Mai Fuchigami voicing Iona.
