More anime content for My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU

There were some major announcements concerning the currently airing My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU (Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru) on Thursday.

The anime series itself will continue to adapt the light novel by Wataru Watari until the 6th volume (cultural festival storyline). In the mean time, the production of a new anime-only spinoff episode has been green lit, and the episode will air one week after the 12th episode of the main series. A separate new original video anime has been announced, and this anime will be bundled with the limited edition of the PlayStation Vita game currently titled Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. Both the new OVA and the spinoff episode will be written by Watari as his screenwriting debut, and will follow stories that are not in the original light novels.

The romantic comedy series follows antisocial highschool student Hachiman Hikigaya, who has a distorted view on life and has no friends as a result. A teacher coerces Hachiman to join the volunteer “service club,” where the only other member is the school’s prettiest girl, Yukino Yukinoshita.
